Jane Bianchi

I’m a former freelance writer/editor and a branded content creator/strategist. My specialties include health and in-depth profiles of adults and teens. Please check out the Portfolio section, which features about 200 of my articles.

I’ve written for more than 35 clients — this includes journalism for 18 national magazines, like Women’s Health, Men’s Health, Woman’s Day, Prevention, Redbook, Parents, and Scholastic classroom publications.

In terms of branded content, I helped create sleep.org for the National Sleep Foundation and the travel blog for Eagle Creek (a luggage company), I’ve written health content for Johnson & Johnson and Strive (a partnership between Meredith Corporation and Pfizer), I’ve written career-focused articles for M.M.LaFleur (a clothing company), and I’ve written for university alumni magazines such as Stanford Graduate School of Business Magazine and Wake Forest Magazine (named alumni magazine of the year by CASE in 2019).

Sometimes I do special projects. I contributed reporting to a Woman’s Day book called When Action Follows Heart: 365 Ways to Share Kindness. For a year, I wrote blogs and social media posts for Mitchell Gaynor, M.D. to help promote his book called The Gene Therapy Plan. I have edited dozens of health articles for Verywell.com. I edited Teen Health Guide, a 64-page print resource for UK health educators.

Early in my career, I worked on staff at national magazines in New York City. I was the senior news editor at Seventeen, the associate health editor at Family Circle, the assistant editor at Good Housekeeping, a reporter at Glamour, and a full-time intern at Esquire.

From 2019-2022, I was the editor of the UT Journal, the alumni magazine at The University of Tampa. During my tenure, the magazine won three District III regional awards from CASE and — for the first time in the magazine’s history — two international Circle of Excellence awards from CASE.

I have a B.A. in English from Wake Forest University and I’m a graduate of the Columbia Publishing Course. I live with my husband and two daughters in Tampa, Florida. I’d love to connect on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn or email.
